Title: High-Performance Cold Storage Roof Design
Bundle Up, It’s Cold Inside!
Cold storage buildings are designed to maintain cold temperatures, much colder temperatures than a typical building. Having a structure that is properly insulated and sealed to maintain the required temperature and to minimize ice build-up is essential not only for the products being stored inside, but also for potential energy savings over the life of the facility. We will review the importance of the roof in this unique construction assembly, the primary control layers and how design and construction of details can impact the functionality and energy efficiency of the building for the lifetime of the roof system.
