SUMMARY:October 9th Dinner Meeting and Presentation
DESCRIPTION:Presentation: Lessons Learned from Electronic Leak Detection and Continuous Monitoring | October 9, 2025 | AIA, IIBEC Registered-\n1 Learning Unit This presentation will cover the lessons learned from multiple case studies regarding Electronic Leak Detection (ELD) quality control testing as part of new construction, forensic testing in existing buildings with active leaks, and continuous monitoring for conventional roofing. Participants will learn about principles outlined in the ASTM Standard Guide D7877 and ASTM Standard Practice D8231 and will be able to identify common causes for moisture intrusion.\nLearning Objections: 1. Understand the science, capabilities and limitations of ELD as outlined in ASTM Standard Guide D7877 and ASTM Standard Practice D8231.\n2. Recognize common causes of failures found in numerous types of roofing and waterproofing membranes.\n3. Identify potential future design and construction failures based on analyzed data from real time construction monitoring.\n4. Distinguish different applications for ELD testing and continuous moisture monitoring for risk mitigation and loss control.\nProgram Cost:\nChapter Member: $60 Non-member: $75 Student: Free Sponsorship: $300\n \n\nPresenter: Shaun Katz, CSI | Detec Systems administration. Katz has assisted facility/property managers and building owners, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and manufacturers with forensic leak investigation, as well as leak detection in new construction. He has performed ELD product demos and presentations worldwide and won the 2020 Presenter of the Year award from the Chicago Chapter of IIBEC. Katz is an active member of CSI, ASTM, and IIBEC. His goal is to provide a basic understanding of ELD and assist all parties with ensuring valid and conclusive ELD.\n\n \nFebruary 5th Technical Dinner meeting .main-table_194,.main-table_194 td,main-table_194 tr { border: 0px solid #000000 !important; } .row-qty { width: 15%; } .row-name { width: 30%; } .row-price { width: 15%; } .row-desc { width: 40%; }0123456789101112131415161718192021222324252627282930Member60.00 USD0123456789101112131415161718192021222324252627282930Non-Member75.00 USD012345Sponsor300.00 USDTable top and dinner0123456Student0.00 USDYour eTicket will be emailed after payment to your PayPal email address.\n
